This special gold commemorative coin has been on a journey...

The coins were issued in Paris on the morning of 6 June 2019, then travelled to the Pegasus Memorial in Normandy, arriving on the afternoon of 6 June.
The Pegasus Memorial is dedicated to the men of the 6th Airborne Division – The Red Berets. They were the first troops to arrive in Normandy, dropping behind enemy lines before the main landings on the beach.

#1 is was presented and is now kept at the Pegasus Museum.

Pegasus bridge played a vital role in preventing a German counter-attack during the weeks following the Normandy invasions.
